With the dawn of a new day, unfortunately the presidential election was not decided in favor of Democrats. While the result is disheartening we must dust ourselves off, reassess and move forward.

June is an important month for Ward 2! We celebrate Pride Month, the Capital Pride Parade makes its way across the Ward this Saturday, June 8 and THIS Tuesday, June 4 is the Democratic Primary Election!

As we acknowledge Emancipation Day today, we must remind ourselves that we are heading into what is probably the most consequential presidential election cycle in the last 30 years. Our civil and personal liberties, even the very history of this nation, is at risk. We are the only ones that can do anything about it.

Prospective candidates to lead Ward 2 Democrats must submit the interest form by 12:00 PM on Thursday, April 4, 2024. To view the current list of candidates visit the Ward 2 Democrats website.

The DC Democratic Party is delighted to invite you to the Kennedys-King Dinner on May 17, 2024. Join us as we honor the legacies of John and Robert Kennedy and Martin Luther King Jr.

Ward 2 Democrats is holding leadership elections on Thursday, April, 11, 2024. As a result, the organization is in need of volunteers to assist with running the election.

In lieu of our May General Meeting, join the Ward 2 Democrats, Ward 6 Democrats, DC Young Democrats, DC Democratic Party, the Hill Rag and the Hill Center for the DC Council Chair Candidates Forum. Monday, May 16 at 7:00 PM at the Hill Center (921 Pennsylvania Avenue SE). The event will also be streamed online.

On Monday, April 18, at 6:30 PM we welcome Captain Ryan Small of the Metropolitan Police Department for a public safety conversation.

The first meeting for Ward 2 takes place this Sunday, January 16, at 2:00 PM and is open to the public.

Today we mark the one year anniversary of The Insurrection at the U.S. Capitol. Like many of you, I spent the day replaying events in my mind. As residents of the nation’s capital we have a front row seat to some of the most important events in our history, both good and bad.
